Max on Holiday by Grinagog Theatre
Max on Holiday is a show for 3-7 year olds. It uses participation, puppets, and song to tell the story of how Max, a shy attic mouse conquers his fear of the water to help his friend the hermit crab find a new home. It is set against a lively backdrop of characters heading down to the beach for an ice-cream festival. Mrs Woolly the shepherd-ess has brought her sheep for a day trip and has made some nettle ice-cream. The boatswoman needs some help fishing for flavours in her boat, the Poosky Doosky. Max must decide whether to help his friend find a new home under the water, or join in the fun of the ice-cream festival.
The Company.
Grinagog Theatre Company is a company for children and young people. We work mainly, although not exclusively with early years audiences.
The word Grinagog means a “delightful fool” which sums up the spirit of our work! We are based in Platform at Easterhouse in Glasgow as part of the new creative hub initiated by arts manager Jackie Shearer.
Past shows have been Little Ulla; a co-production with Scottish Opera in 2012; Wonderland, Little Ulla and Twinkle Bell. Grinagog was commissioned in 2012 to make the show Too wit Too woo for early years festival Tots fest in Fife.
